Emma McKendrick joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers in 2006 as a Senior Engineer, was promoted to Regional Director in 2007 and became a Director in 2012. She became Managing Director in 2013.
Emma has been responsible for managing Civils design teams on a number of large Civil Infrastructure design and Master planning projects in Ireland, UK, Libya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Projects include housing developments (development area up to 36 hectares), mixed use developments (development area up to 125 hectares).
Prior to joining PUNCH Consulting Engineers Emma spent 16 years in the United Kingdom working for a number of consulting civil and structural engineering practices including 7 years with Babtie Group (now part of the Jacobs Group).
Emma moved from Northern Ireland in 1986 to attend Edinburgh University where she graduated in 1990 with an honours degree in Civil engineering. Emma was admitted as a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2003 and as such is registered by the Engineering Council (UK) as a Chartered Engineer. Emma also holds membership of Engineers Ireland and the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management.
Following her time in Scotland Emma promotes the use of Sustainable Infrastructure. Examples of this includes sustainable urban drainage systems, rain water harvesting and grey water recycling. She also has experience in the development and treatment of ground water supplies and treatment of waste water to a standard that facilitates reuse for irrigation purposes and treatment of surface water run-off from highways.
