John was appointed Managing Director of PUNCH Consulting Engineers in 2006, having previously joined and been responsible for setting up the Dublin office in 1983.

He previously worked with McCarthy & Partners (now Atkins) as a Bridge Design Engineer, where he worked under the guidance of Mr. Eamon Molloy, a leading Irish bridge engineer.  John also worked for GTSTRUDL in Atlanta developing structural analysis software for plate and shell type structures.

John has a 1st Class honours Bachelor of Engineering degree from University College Cork, a Master of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA and is Member of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland.  He has completed a Leadership 4 Growth programme for CEO’s in the Irish Construction Sector.

He has worked on a wide diversity of structural projects including bridges, healthcare, educational, leisure, retail, residential and commercial.  Many of his projects have involved utilising prefabricated construction systems.

For rest and recreation John plays golf at Bray Golf Club in Dublin and he is an avid Munster rugby fan.
