Paul graduated from University College Dublin with a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering.
During his career to date Paul has gained a wide variety of experience both in Ireland and internationally with specialist skills in bridges, civil structures and infrastructure site development. Paul began his career with Hyder Consulting in Dublin and was involved in the design of multiple highway projects throughout Ireland including A2 Maydown to City of Derry Airport, M17 Tuam Bypass, N18 Oranmore to Gort and N7 Nenagh to Limerick.
Prior to joining PUNCH Consulting Engineers, Paul worked in Sydney Australia for 4 years where he worked predominantly on Sydney Trains projects. Some of Paul’s high profile international projects include Sydney Trains Network Maintenance Bases (project value €70 million), which consisted of the development of 8 no. network maintenance bases throughout the Sydney region, the Major Works Regional Bases (project value €20 million), which consisted of the development of 3 no. Major Works bases in Wollongong, Lawson and Hamilton and the reference design of Sydney Trains new Engineering & Maintenance Hub in Clyde (project value €40 million).
Paul joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers in 2016 and was promoted to Technical Director in 2017, followed by his subsequent appointment as Director in 2019. Since joining PUNCH, he has continued to develop his business development and project management experience on a wide variety of buildings and civil engineering works including high profile projects such as the RB Central Rockbrook development, Priorsland Cherrywood SDZ, Dublin Airport, North Quay Waterford and Croke Park. Paul is a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineers of Ireland.
Since returning to Ireland in early 2016, Paul has been kept (happily) busy settling into his new home with his wife and his young family. Paul’s personal interests include rugby, travel, and music.
