Emma McKendrick assumes the role of Chairperson of the Thomond Region of Engineers Ireland
PUNCH Managing Director Emma McKendrick has assumed the role of Chairperson of the Thomond Region of Engineers Ireland for the coming year.
At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Engineers Ireland in Limerick on Wednesday night (27th May), as part of her induction, Emma was entrusted with a solid gold ceremonial chain that contained the names of previous chairpersons of the Thomond Region, including previous PUNCH Directors Michael Punch and Pat Hanley.
Emma said, “Michael Punch was the first from PUNCH to hold the position in 1975 and it is suspected that when Pat Hanley held the position in 1983 he was the youngest person to hold the position.”
The Thomond Region is one of twelve Regions within Engineers Ireland. Each Region accommodates different parts of Ireland and abroad. Thomond covers Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary.
Members of Engineers Ireland are categorised by geographical location, as well as areas of engineering interest and specialist areas. A committee is set up for each regional branch to provide social and networking events, membership information evenings, to develop training courses and/or seminars for their branch members, etc.Back to top
