PUNCH Consulting Engineers are working on the design of a multi-million euro extension at Colaiste Iosaef in Kilmallock for which planning permission application has just been lodged.
If given the green light, it will see the secondary school cater for 650 students. The new building will feature 12 new classrooms, two new science laboratories, a new technology room, a language laboratory, an IT suite, a tiered music and drama suite and a lecture hall.
It will also feature a full-size state-of-the-art gymnasium and an attached fitness suite which is to be made available as a community facility in the evenings. PUNCH completed a full Flood Risk Assessment for the project to accompany the planning application and prepared the civil and structural design for the planning stage. The client for the project is the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, with architects Healy Partners leading the design team.
