PUNCH Consulting Engineers were appointed as Assigned Certifier for this project comprising the construction of a new warehouse / logistics / light industrial unit of approximately 4,500m2 with ancillary office use; and associated site development works to include car & cycle parking spaces, service yards, loading bays, landscaping and drainage. The unit will be accessible off the existing road network via new internal access roads and circulation areas.
PUNCH as the Assigned Certifiers organised for a Standard Commencement Notice to be submitted to the online Building Control Management System (BCMS) in accordance with statutory requirements. PUNCH also correlated and submitted the relevant Statutory & Ancillary certificates; associated drawings and documentation to the Local Authority / online Building Control Management System (BCMS).
PUNCH are currently attending all design team meetings and undertaking numerous periodic site inspections at appropriate times in accordance with the Inspection Plan during the course of the works to ensure that the works including any changes are carried out in accordance with the design team drawings and specifications and Technical Guidance Documents of the Building Regulations (Part A-M).
In addition, PUNCH are co-ordinating, implementing and updating the Inspection Plan during monthly BC(A)R meetings with the client and contractor ensuring any non-compliance issues as noted by the Design Team are completed and closed out accordingly.
PUNCH are currently obtaining the relevant Declaration of Performance Certificates / CE markings from the contractor for the appropriate materials used as part of the works with all relevant documentation available to the Design Team via a shared document database.
The project is due for completion in June 2019.
