PUNCH Consulting Engineers have successfully delivered a broad range of education-related projects. Our experience covers primary, secondary and third level facilities in the public and private sectors.

We have completed a large number of schools on behalf of the Department of Education & Skills, as well as schools for Vocational Education Committees (VECs) and private schools. We have also worked on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

We are experienced in dealing with the project issues, site issues and building issues that commonly occur on schools projects, such as working on live sites, dealing with decanting and phasing, designing to the DoES guidelines, designing for future flexibility, providing robust solutions while respecting and delivering on the architectural design intent, and meeting acoustic and air-tightness requirements.

In the area of third level education, we have worked on all of the main university campuses, with many of our projects winning awards, such as the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland 2013 President’s Award for Innovation in the Design of the John Paul II Library at the National University of Ireland Maynooth. We have worked on a number of these campuses for many years, and have developed strong relationships with the campus development teams based on our commitment to getting the job done.

Together with the Environmental Division, we can offer a complete civil and structural engineering service to the client, including design of civil infrastructure, roads, traffic and flooding assessment.
